FCA complete the signing of midfielder Elvis Rexhbecaj

Just before the first game of the new season away to Blau-Weiß Lohne in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, FC Augsburg have secured the services of a new central midfielder. Elvis Rexhbecaj has joined FCA with immediate effect from fellow Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg. The 24-year-old has already featured 103 times in the Bundesliga (for VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Köln and VfL Bochum), and has scored seven goals and set up a further eight to date. He has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Fuggerstädter. Both clubs agreed to keep the transfer details undisclosed.
“After two loan spells in Cologne and Bochum which really helped my development, I’m now happy to be here in Augsburg for the long run. My conversations with the club’s bosses were really positive and I’m looking forward to working with the team and the new coach, whose idea of playing football matches my style of play,” said Elvis Rexhbecaj, who will wear the number 13 for FCA.
