DFB confirms Reece Oxford suspension
Following an appeal from FC Augsburg, the German football association (DFB) has ruled that Reece Oxford must serve a three match suspension for the red card he picked up in Augsburg’s 5-1 defeat away against SC Freiburg.
The FCA defender was sent off by referee Tobias Welz in the dying moments in Freiburg following a heavy collision with an opponent. Oxford was originally given a three match ban by the DFB on 27th February but the Englishman appealed the decision. On Tuesday, the DFB rejected the appeal. Oxford will miss Augsburg’s trip to RB Leipzig on Saturday as well as the home match against Hannover.
