FC Augsburg have a difficult task ahead of them as they prepare to welcome record Bundesliga champions FC Bayern München to the WWK ARENA. FCA want to come together as a team and cause an upset on Friday night (20:30 CET). Ahead of the Bavarian derby against FC Bayern, FCA head coach Manuel Baum has placed the togetherness of the squad as the priority for the match. “There's a real togetherness here. Everyone plays their part. We are all working together to get back on track and return to winning ways. That's what it means to be Augsburg.” FCA loanee Gregor Kobel builds on the coach’s thoughts. “I've been welcomed very well here and have already made some friends. There's a really close bond within the squad and we all understand each other. This is something I really appreciate.” In their previous meeting this season in the Allianz Arena, FCA secured a 1-1 draw against FC Bayern. Manuel Baum remembers the match very fondly: “We held our own last time against Bayern and took a point away from the Allianz, so why can't it be the same on Friday? The situation back then was similar to what it is now.” Kobel excited for his first match against FC Bayern FCA goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is excited to face FC Bayern for the first time since joining Augsburg on loan from Hoffenheim. “The Bayern game is a highlight for me - I'm looking forward to playing against a team of their stature. I'm excited for the match and we want to take something away from it.”
