Maximilian Bauer to join FCA in the summer
The German U21 international will make the move from Fürth
FC Augsburg have secured the services of Germany U21 international Maximilian Bauer. He will be at the club from next season. The centre-back will join from Bundesliga rivals SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a free transfer. The 21-year-old was born in Vilshofen in Niederbayern and has signed a five-year contract, keeping him in Augsburg until the 30th June 2027.
“We have closely followed his development over the last few years from an academy player to a Bundesliga professional at SpVgg Greuther Fürth and are convinced that he will successfully continue his development with us here. We are very pleased that Maximilian Bauer was convinced by our plans and that he decided to make the move to FCA,” said Stefan Reuter, Augsburg’s sporting director.
“I’m extremely grateful to SpVgg Greuther Fürth, my teammates, the board and the fans for such a brilliant time. I want to develop further as a player and a person with this move. FCA offer amazing opportunities for young players to establish themselves. Therefore, I am looking forward to new challenges next season,” said Maximilian Bauer. “Everyone involved with Fürth can be sure that I will do everything to contribute to the success of the Cloverleaves before leaving in the summer.”
