Baum: "The desire will be decisive"

Fans 20.02.2019, 15:01
After a strong performance against Bayern Munich, which unfortunately ended 3-2 to the opposition, FCA coach Manuel Baum’s focus is already on the next important game – Saturday’s clash with SC Freiburg (15:30 CET). On the sidelines during a training session on Tuesday, Manuel Baum greeted fans and journalists. The game against Bayern is no longer at the front of the players’ minds: “We are completely focussed on Freiburg. We put in a courageous performance against Bayern but didn’t manage to grab any points. What matters to us now is the game against Freiburg. That will be no easy task.” Despite some injury worries, Baum oversaw his team preparing for the away game in Breigau: “Even if we do have injuries we will always be able to put a team on the pitch. I’m not worried. We have good players that train well and will do well on Saturday.” Baum sees the opposition as a similar team to FCA: “Freiburg have a style of play very similar to ours. They rely on fast switches and going forward with purpose. However, you can’t just assume Freiburg will play long balls. If they have the ball, they’ll want to play proper football with it. In addition they come, as we do, with a focus on unity within the team. I believe that desire will be decisive during Saturday’s game.”
