“Mahmut is a high-potential player from our youth academy who impresses with his intelligence and ball security,” said FCA sporting director Marinko Jurendic, praising Augsburg's home-grown talent Mahmut Kücüksahin. On the last matchday of the 2023/24 season, the then 20-year-old made his debut for the first team in the away game in Leverkusen.
Kücüksahin had previously made 17 appearances for the U23s in the Regionalliga Bayern and became season champions in the A-Junior Bundesliga Süd/Südwest with the FCA U19s in 2022. He then signed a professional contract in July 2024. “I will give my all in every training session and game to earn further appearances for the pros,” said Kücüksahin.
