Matsima nominated for Rookie of the Month once again

Chrislain Matsima has received another nomination for Rookie of the Month and is one of three candidates up for March’s award. The FCA centre-back already secured the title back in January. His consistent defensive displays have now earned him further recognition from the DFL.

Nominees are required to have been under 23 years of age at the start of the season, while also having featured for fewer than 450 minutes in the Bundesliga. Alongside Matsima, Michael Olise (FC Bayern München) and Nathaniel Brown (Eintracht Frankfurt) are also in contention.

The 22-year-old Frenchman impressed throughout March, appearing in all four of Augsburg’s fixtures. He won 72% of his duels last month and recorded a pass accuracy of 89%, conceding just one goal during this period.
