DFB-Pokal: FCA to face FC Bayern in 2nd round
A home tie against the record Pokal winners
Sunday evening saw the draw for the second round of the DFB-Pokal take place at the German Football Museum in Dortmund. FC Augsburg were drawn at home to FC Bayern Munich – the tie will take place on either October 18th or 19th.
The tie sees an all-Bavarian clash at the WWK ARENA. After their first round tie was rescheduled due to the DFL Supercup, FC Bayern secured their passage to round two with a 5-0 win against Viktoria Köln last week. FCA’s first cup tie came in July, as the Fuggerstädter secured a 4-0 victory over Blau-Weiß Lohne.
“This draw really doesn’t surprise me. FC Augsburg have often been drawn against Bayern in the second round of this competition,” Enrico Maaßen commented on the draw, which took place after his side’s match against Hertha BSC.
