Iceland fought hard to get a 1-1 draw versus 2014 World Cup finalists Argentina - the goal came courtesy of FCA's very own Alfred Finnbogason. In Iceland's first ever game at a World Cup, Alfred Finnbogason led the line for Iceland. In Moscow,  Iceland battled hard against the likes of Lionel Messi. However, the two time World Cup champions took the lead in the 19th minutes as Sergio Aguero rocketed home to put Argentina ahead. However, minutes later, Iceland shocked the world and pulled a goal back. In the 23rd minute, Alfred Finnbogason slotted home the equaliser from close range and wrote his name into the history books by scoring Iceland's first ever World Cup goal. In the second half, Argentina continued to improve and won a penalty on the hour mark. Lionel Messi stepped up but saw his spot kick saved by Halldorsson! Iceland dug deep and held on to pick up their first ever point in a World Cup finals.
