FC Augsburg can start 2019 with some very positive news. Insurance company WWK and FC Augsburg have extended their contract prematurely and for the long-term. WWK will be the main sponsor and name of the stadium until 2030.
In addition, WWK, who recently installed the LED lights at the WWK ARENA at their own expense, acquired the name rights to the FCA boarding school, which will be created next to the youth academy on Donauwörther Straße. By entering this partnership, FCA will be able to implement their youth system project, without having to borrow money.
“The partnership with MMK and especially the pre-mature long-term extension are of extreme importance to FC Augsburg. We have been given a platform to work off for our aspired growth in the coming years,” said Michael Ströll, CFO of FC Augsburg. “The additional contract for the naming rights of the FCA boarding school will allow us to tackle this project, which is fundamental for our development in the youth sector.”
