The players’ transfer window may be shut, but FC Augsburg have a new addition to their coaching staff. Tobias Zellner, who worked at FCA between 2012 and 2016, has joined Manuel Baum’s coaching staff as an additional assistant coach.
“I’m happy it’s all worked out,” said head coach Manuel Baum. “With this addition, we can divide the many tasks of the coaching staff more specifically and work more individually with our players.”
“It’s great to be back in Augsburg. I’m looking forward to working with the team and I’d like to thank the people responsible for making my return possible,” said the 40 year old, whose contract at FC Schalke 04 was terminated.
“Tobias Zellner did some outstanding work under coach Markus Weinzierl. He fits into the team very well, knows our structure and our philosophy. Therefore, we’re convinced that he’ll be good for our team, as we can now work on an even more individual level,” explained Stefan Reuter, FCA’s director of sport.
