FCA player, Marco Richter, has been chosen for the Germany U21 squad for the upcoming U21 European Championship. He and the DFB team will have a big task on their hands as they try to defend their title. Kevin Danso is also going to the competition with Austria.
DFB U21 coach, Stefan Kuntz, announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming tournament in Italy and San Marino to UEFA. Marco Richter has been selected in the squad, along with many other talented young German players. Over the past few days, Richter has been training in Natz, South Tirol, and was there able to secure his ticket to the Euros, in the eyes of Stefan Kuntz.
Until the opening game on Monday 17th of June against Denmark, the DFB U21s are preparing themselves for the tournament. Firstly, on Friday 7th of June, the U21 side will play a friendly against the South Tirol XI. Then the side will play another friendly against the Polish U21s on Monday 10th of June, with the game being open to the public.
Match-up with Kevin Danso possible
The German U21 team will be preparing for the tournament with a training camp from 2-11th of June in South Tirol. The first game of the tournament will take place between the current title-holders, Germany, and Denmark, on the 17th of June (21:00 CEST) in Udine. They then play Serbia on the 20th of June (21:00 CEST) in Triest and then, lastly, face Austria, where Richter may line up against Kevin Danso, on the 23rd of June (21:00 CEST). Only the three group leaders and the best runner-up qualify for the semi-finals.
