After a perfect start to the competition with two consecutive wins, FCA’s team consisting of Marco Richter and Yannic Bederke are looking to make it three wins from three against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Sunday 12th April (16:20 CET).
The opening two Matchdays of the Bundesliga Home Challenge went swimmingly for the team of FCA player Marco Richter and eSports player Yannic Bederke against Hannover 96 (2-1) and Hamburger SV (5-2). Next up, the same two players will meet the team of Moussa Niakhaté und Dominic “NicMyrrhe” Weihrauch, representing Mainz 05, on Easter Sunday.
“Moussa and I were still playing against each other on the pitch at the end of the Hinrunde,” Richter looks back to the 2-1 home victory over the Zerofivers at the beginning of December. “Of course I hope that we will have the better of the game again on the console on Sunday.” After falling short in both of their opening games against Dortmund (3-3) and Hoffenheim (12-1), FSV Mainz 05 are still looking for their first win of the Bundesliga Home Challenge. “However, we shouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating them,” warns Bederke.
The Bundesliga Home Challenge is a competition that was launched by the DFL. Since no football can currently be played in German stadiums due to the situation surrounding the Coronavirus, the beautiful game has been moved to the living room. 29 German professional clubs have been competing against each other through FIFA 20 on the PlayStation 4. Teams are made up of one professional football player and one professional eSports player from each club.
