As 2018 draws to a close, we look back on some memorable FC Augsburg moments throughout the year. Today in our end of year review: March.
FCA began March by receiving the “team of the year” award by the city of Augsburg. FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter was delighted at the “recognition of the entire club’s hard work.” Club top goalscorer Alfred Finnbogason was awarded second place in the “athlete of the year” vote behind canoe slalom athlete Sideris Tasiadis.
Defeat, Victory, Defeat: Mixed emotions
FCA fans experienced mixed emotions in March. After a poor performance in a 2-0 home defeat to TSG Hoffenheim, FCA reponded well and secure a 3-1 victory away in Hoffenheim. Michael Gregoritsch scored his tenth and eleventh goals of the season in this victory. Augsburg ended the month with another defeat at home, falling to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Werder Bremen.
