Andreas Luthe is currently enjoying his first season as first-choice keeper at FC Augsburg and has constantly put in some good performances. Nevertheless, Augsburg are currently in a bad run of form. On Wednesday, Luthe discussed how he feels the side can back to winning ways.
After the best start to a season in the club’s history, FC Augsburg are now struggling for form. Goalkeeper Andreas Luthe believes the devil is in the detail: “At the moment we are missing a few things which we had last season. We have still played well, which shows what kind of mentality the team has. We just need to wake ourselves up again.”
This season is Luthe’s first as the Augsburg number one keeper and he has worked for a long time to achieve this: “Every little thing matters in the Bundesliga. It is the highest level around. It’s a similar situation to the end of last season for me. I work very hard in every training session, so that I can constantly bring my best performances out onto the pitch.”
The 31-year-old also deals with setbacks in a professional manner: “I will normally watch the goals I concede back two or three days afterwards and try to see what I could have done better.”
