Kevin Danso and Austria U21s have one foot in the 2019 U21 European Championship finals after a 1-0 first-leg play-off win against Greece U21s.
Greece U21s 0-1 Austria U21s
It took until the 84th minute before Austria broke the deadlock in Athens. Stefan Posch scored the only goal and put Austria in charge in the play-off tie. Kevin Danso started the game but was taken off after 70 minutes. The second leg will take place on Tuesday in St. Pölten.
Germany U21s 3-0 Holland U21s
Germany U21s had already secured their qualification for the 2019 European Championship in Italy before the game against The Netherlands. Stefan Kuntz’s team came out on top in the friendly game, running out comfortable 3-0 winners. Philipp Ochs, Abdelhamid Sabiri and Törles Knöll got the goals for the home side while Marco Richter was an unused substitute.
Japan 1-1 Venezuela
Venezuela and Sergio Córdova travelled to Japan for a friendly. Hiroki Sakai put the home side in front in the 40th minute before ex-Bundesliga player Tomás Rincón scored the equaliser from the spot with ten minutes to go. Córdova came on as a substitute in the 85th minute.
