The German Football League (DFL) published the schedule for the upcoming Bundesliga season on Friday, with Augsburg beginning their ninth consecutive season of Bundesliga football with an away trip to last season’s runners up, Borussia Dortmund, on the weekend of 17th/18th August. FCA’s first home match of the season will be against newly-promoted Union Berlin on Matchday 2 (23rd-25th August) in the WWK Arena.
The season starts and ends with FCA playing top teams, with RB Leipzig the visitors in Augsburg on Matchday 34 on Saturday, 16th May 2020.
“We’re pleased that our season starts immediately with a cracker in Dortmund. A special focus will be put on that in our pre-season work. The same goes for the ends of the first and second halves of the season, when we play another top team in the shape of RB Leipzig,” says FCA coach Martin Schmidt. “It’s also nice that our first home game will be against a new opponent (Union Berlin), competing in their first-ever Bundesliga away game.”
Ticket information will be released shortly.
