As assistant coach Florian Ernst will no longer be available to serve as head coach Manuel Baum’s assistant in the upcoming season due to personal reasons, FCA have been busy trying to find a replacement. Michael Wimmer, currently coach of FC Nürnberg’s U17 team, will be the new assistant to Manuel Baum next season.
The 37-year-old completes the coaching team alongside Manuel Baum, assistant coaches Tobias Zellner and Jonas Scheuermann, rehab and fitness coach Andreas Bäumler and goalkeeping coach Zdenko Miletic.
“Michael Wimmer is an absolute expert in the field, who will complement Manuel Baum’s coaching staff very nicely,” says Stefan Reuter, general manager at FCA.
“I’m excited to be embarking on a new challenge at FCA in Manuel Baum’s team. It’s fantastic that we’ll be able to work together in Augsburg,” says Michael Wimmer, who will remain at FC Nürnberg until the end of the season.
