FCA’s exceptional 2017 has come to a close. The twelve months have had serious highs, some lows and records broken. Today, we’re taking a look back at FCA’s December.
At the beginning of December, FCA still had four matches to play before the winter break. First, FCA travelled to Mainz where they hadn’t won in any of their last five visits. Alfred Finnbogason (2) and Michael Greogoritsch scored to put an end to that run and secure a 3-1 victory for FCA.
Hertha BSC travelled down south for FCA’s penultimate home game of the calendar year. FCA put on an incredibly impressive performance and took the lead through Caiby, but had to walk away with just a point after conceding an equaliser in added time. Just three days later, FCA travelled to Gelsenkirchen to face Schalke. Despite going 2-0 down, FCA showed their team spirit and managed to bring the score level at 2-2.
Finnbogason scores twice in added time
In the final league match of the calendar year, SC Freiburg travelled to the WWK Arena. FCA took the lead after just a few minutes through Alfred Finnbogason, however SC Freiburg then took control of the game and made it 3-1. Again, FCA showed their team spirit and incredibly, Alfred Finnbogason scored twice in the three minutes of added time to secure a point for his team. FCA go into the winter break in 9th position with 24 points.
