FCA first team player Caiuby was absent for the entirety of the team’s training camp in South Tyrol and only returned to Augsburg this past week. The forward apologized for his actions on Thursday.
The Brazilian, who missed FCA’s training camp in Mals due to an unauthorised extension to his holiday, apologized to the team and the coaching staff for his unprofessional behavior. “Teams have rules. Caiuby went against those rules. We have discussed the matter internally and have sanctioned him accordingly,” said Stefan Reuter after the 29-year-old’s apology.
“We worked very well and very hard in Mals,” says FCA coach Manuel Baum looking back. “Caiuby is now only doing his performance tests, which are necessary to see what his fitness level is like. We will gather the results and then decide a suitable course of action to get him back up to speed,” explained Baum.
