FC Augsburg coach Manuel Baum is optimistic ahead of his team’s trip to Hannover 96 on Saturday, 27th October (15:30 CEST). After the goalless stalemate at home to RB Leipzig last weekend, the team has a burning to desire to secure all three points on Saturday.
FC Augsburg travel to Hannover on Saturday with a lot of confidence. However, Manuel Baum is expecting a tight match. “Hannover are a side that can easily adapt to different systems. Two very similar sides meet on Saturday. However, FCA’s head coach has a lot of belief in his side and is targeting a win. “We won in Hannover last season and that was great. The team is eager to repeat their success this weekend with another win.”
Currently, Baum is spoilt for choice at right-back. “We can be very flexible at right-back as each of our full-backs have their own individual strengths. Jonathan Schmid, Raphael Framberger and also Simon Asta are spurring each other on.” The head coach refused to say which of the players will start on Saturday.
Jonathan Schmid is pleased about the amount of competition present in the squad at right-back: “When you have multiple players competing for a position in the starting lineup, it can spur you on to play better. You cannot give yourself any breaks and instead have to give 100% all the time. This motivates me to perform well and I am pleased whenever I am included in the starting lineup.”
Regarding upcoming opponents Hannover 96, Schmid says: “Hannover are a good side and every Bundesliga match is difficult. We will have to give everything we have to secure all three points on Saturday.”
