FC Augsburg will play against FC Schalke 04 on Saturday 15th December (15:30 CET) at the WWK-Arena. Having lost four of their last games, coach Manuel Baum and his team will be looking to end their winless run. After training on Tuesday, Manuel Baum discussed with the media the current situation.
Although the team have been unable to pick up any points recently, FCA coach Manuel Baum is convinced that his team have the capability to do so. “We have to continue putting in good performances on the pitch, and with the support of the fans we can end this bad run. I would also like to stress that the fans have been phenomenal. It is not taken-for-granted that the fans stick behind us after four losses. It is not the case for all Bundesliga clubs that this happens. It is very good for the team and the club and therefore we want to get the victory for the fans on Saturday.”
The work put in on the training ground is extremely important. Baum knows how the situation can be turned around. “Of course, after four defeats, the atmosphere is different to after four wins. But everyone on and off the field are doing their jobs with complete commitment. Everyone is giving everything they can and so we will turn it around.”
Manuel Baum has no thoughts about signings during the winter break. “Our squad is strong enough. I don’t have the feeling that we will be very active in the transfer window.”
