An exciting year for FCA is in the books: They were twelve months of highs, lows and even records. As we get ready to welcome in the new year, we took the chance to look back on the year that has just been. Today: February.
The second home game of 2017 was not for the faint-hearted. Against the guests from Bremen, FCA went behind twice, but equalised both times with goals from Jonathan Schmid and Ja-Cheol Koo. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Raúl Bobadilla pounced to give FCA a 3-2 win to send the WWK ARENA into raptures.
In the following two games in Mainz (2-0) and against Leverkusen (3-1), FCA failed to pick up any points. But Baum’s team did not let their heads drop, as they earned three vital points in their next match against Darmstadt under the floodlights. Augsburg again went behind, but turned the tie around through captain Paul Verhaegh and Bobadilla.
