FC Augsburg have secured the services of forward Marcel Heller, whose contract at relegated side SV Darmstadt 98 had run out. The 31-year-old signs on a free transfer on a two-year contract.
“My aim was to also be playing Bundesliga football this season which is why I am delighted to be taking on this new challenge with FCA, who convinced me in the excellent discussions we had and with the exciting task ahead of us,” said Marcel Heller, who made a total of 99 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt and Darmstadt 98, scoring eleven goals in the process.
“Marcel Heller has been crucial to the development of Darmstadt 98 in recent years with his goals and assists, playing almost all their games in the process. That is why we are pleased that we have been able to sign one of the quickest players in the Bundesliga,” said Stefan Reuter.
