Another homegrown talent has committed his future to FC Augsburg. On Monday, young forward Marco Richter signed a new deal to keep him at the club until 30th June 2023. The Friedberg born 20-year-old made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 8, when he came on late in FCA’s 2-2 away draw with Hoffenheim. Since then, he’s made a total of 12 appearances in the Bundesliga. He scored his first Bundesliga goal on matchday 21 against Eintracht Frankfurt. “Marco Richter has a huge amount of potential and has already shown that he is up to playing at this level throughout the season just gone. We’re convinced that he will continue to grow and we’re extremely happy that we could agree to a new five-year deal,” says sporting director Stefan Reuter. “FC Augsburg is my club. It’s where I belong. I was essentially raised and became a professional player in Augsburg, so I’m all the more excited that I have the chance to stay here and continue my development. It’s a perfect situation for me and I look forward to achieving much more with my teammates at FCA,” Richter says. Currently, Marco Richter is with the Germany Under-20s in the Italian town of Eppan. The U20s are taking part in the senior side’s preparation for this summer’s World Cup in Russia. Richter made his debut for the Under-20s on 9th November 2017.
