U21s win opener – Kohr in the squad

Germany’s U21s won their opening game against the Czech Republic by a scoreline of 2-0 in the U21 European Championship. Manager Stefan Kuntz’s men won their first group-stage game against the Czech Republic in Poland’s Tychy. A goal from Schalke midfielder Max Meyer put Germany into the lead after 44 minutes of play, whilst FC Bayern’s newest signing Serge Gnabry doubled his country’s lead in the second half in the 50th minute. The U21s are now level with Italy at the top of Group C after both sides played and won their opening group-stage games 2-0. 23-year-old FCA midfielder Dominik Kohr, who is set to make a move to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the start of next season, was an unused substitute in the game. Germany’s U21’s next game comes against Denmark on Wednesday evening at 20:45 CEST.
