Ban and fine for Daniel Baier
The DFB (German football assicoation) has given FCA midfielder Daniel Baier a one-game ban, which will only apply to the Bundesliga, and a fine of 20,000 euros for unsportsmanlike behaviour. This ban means the 33 year old will miss Augsburg’s next game at VfB Stuttgart on September 23rd (15:30 CEST).
In the 74th minute of the game against Rasenballsport Leipzig, Baier made an obscene gesture. The referee Daniel Siebert said he did not see the incident, so the DFB has used their powers to punish Baier retrospectively.
Daniel Baier has already accepted both the ban and the fine.
