January 2017: Three points in first game of the New Year

First Team 20.12.2017, 16:45
An exciting year for FCA is in the books: They were twelve months of highs, lows and even records. As we get ready to welcome in the new year, we took the chance to look back on the year that has just been. First up: January. FCA were twelfth in the Bundesliga table with 18 points from 16 games heading into the winter break - well on their way to attaining their goal of staying in the top flight. The team travelled with coach Manuel Baum to Spain to take part in a training camp in Marbella in order to prepare for the second half of the season. The friendlies against AZ Alkmaar and Hannover 96 (both ended 1-1) gave hope for the rest of the season. There wasn’t much in terms of transfer news to speak of throughout the winter break. Daniel Opare returned from his loan spell with RC Lens, while Moritz Leitner did the same from Lazio. Homegrown talent Framberger celebrates Bundesliga debut FCA started the New Year with a come from behind 2-1 win over Wolfsburg. Homegrown talent Raphael Framberger made his Bundesliga debut and directly assisted Dominik Kohr’s winning goal.
