Hamburg Match reaction

First Team 30.04.2017, 20:00
A fantastic performance saw FC Augsburg triumph over Hamburg SV by a scoreline of 4-0 in front of a sold-out WWK ARENA on matchday 31 of the Bundesliga. The result means that FCA climb to 13th in the table. Here's all the reaction to the game. Daniel Baier: "The pressure was enormous because many had already written us off. You can only commend today's performance. We showed that we wanted the win from the first minute to the last. HSV hardly proved to be any threat at all, and we took our best chances in front of goal. Now it'll be a tense conclusion to the season, but our future is in our own hands." Halil Altintop: "It was a crucial three points and a perfect first-half. The manager couldn't have prepared us any better for the game and we executed perfectly. The win is fantastic for our confidence and it was obvious what the game meant to us. The way the fans cheered us on was simply amazing as well." Philipp Max: "We were aware of our situation going into the game, as well our games to come, so we threw everything we had into the game. We were just so up for the game and the 4-0 win does a world of good. The slogan "Augsburg sticks together" was an enormous morale boost. Our mentality played a large role and the fans with their white t-shirts that supported us were fantastic! Now we have to build on this performance in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach." Dominik Kohr: We never let HSV get into the game. The win means a lot to us, because it gives us confidence going into the remaining three games. We created a lot of chances for ourselves and Tom Mickel made some great saves. It was a superb game with a phenomenal atmosphere. Thank you to our fans." Markus Gidol: Congratulations to FCA. It was a very deserved win. We prepared a lot, but FCA dominated us from early and on and we never got into the game. It felt like FCA won 60% of the challenge sand we were always a step behind. The opponents really turned up today, and we didn't." Manuel Baum: "That was a game in which we played really well over the whole 90 minutes. We were good going forward, won the second-balls, and showed that we wanted to win the match at all costs right from the outset. It was a convincing team effort. What's more, the crowd were fantastic in supporting us. A superb day which gives us a boost for the last three games of the season."
