Günther-Schmidt loaned to Jena

Shortly before the summer transfer window shut, FC Augsburg did one last piece of business. Youngster Julian Günther-Schmidt has been loaned out to third-division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena until June 30th, 2018. Neither side have released details of the deal. “For Julian Günther-Schmidt, it’s important to get game time. We believe he’ll get a lot of minutes in Jena, therefore, we agreed to this last-minute loan deal,” said sporting director Stefan Reuter. “I hope to make many appearances at a high level in Jena, to be able to develop myself as a footballer,” commented the player.
