Felix Götze made his Bundesliga debut for FCA in Saturday’s home clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 20 year-old had given his shirt from the match to his mother, but on brother Fabian’s advice, Götze took the shirt back to be hung up on his apartment wall. Felix Götze was overjoyed at full-time on Saturday. He was lucky enough to have his mother watching on in the WWK Arena as the 20 year-old made his Augsburg debut at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 2 of the Bundesliga season. She was the first person for him to thank for their support: “I gave my shirt to my mother, but my brother Fabian said I should keep it. It is now going up on my wall.” The 20-year-old wasn’t fully satisfied with the result though. “We played very well but we had to take all three points.” He played an important role in central midfield after coming on in the 75th minute. The former Bayern München youngster showed a lot of composure on the ball. “In training, I can watch the way that Daniel Baier plays and learn to play forward on the ball.” Settling into living into Augsburg Off the pitch, Götze has already settled in Augsburg and found his own apartment. “Although I still often go to Munich, as a 20 year old I am able to live in my own flat. It’s a bit more relaxing especially after training. The Dortmund born midfielder wants to continue exactly where he left off in Augsburg’s upcoming matches. FCA coach Manuel Baum is very keen to use young talent and Götze could get more game time in the coming weeks.
