FC Augsburg have been active again in the transfer market, just before the window shuts, signing Kilian Jakob from TSV 1860 München. The 19-year-old signed a five-year contract with FCA to run until 30th June 2022. “Kilian Jakob is a young, German player with lots of potential and he can play anywhere down the flanks,” Stefan Reuter, FCA sporting director, explained on the topic of the transfer. “We are sure that he has what it takes to flourish as a FCA player in the Bundesliga and we are happy that we were able to come to an agreement with 1860 München for his transfer.” “I am really happy that I can take my first steps in professional football with FC Augsburg. FCA have proved in recent years that they are a great club when it comes to developing young players and helping them settle in the Bundesliga. For these reasons I decided on the transfer to FCA,” Kilian Jakob said after signing his contract. Kilian Jakob came through the youth ranks at TSV 1860 München and featured in the Bayern Regionalliga under Daniel Bierofka from the start of this season. The left-back by trade made seven appearances for 1860 and scored two goals. Kilian Jakob will wear the number 25 at FC Augsburg and he will train for the first time with his new teammates on Thursday 31st August.
