FCA get ready to host Leipzig

First Team 02.03.2017, 14:37
Augsburg will welcome RB Leipzig to the WWK Arena this Friday night to kick off matchday 23 in the Bundesliga. After last week's 2-1 away success in Darmstadt, head coach Manuel Baum is very much focused on experiencing that winning feeling again: "It's high time we beat a side towards the top of the table. The team certainly has the quality to do it." Baum feels that the promoted side from Leipzig's strengths are fairly obvious. "They're incredible quick, both physically and mentally." This pace is something that FCA goalkeeper Marwin Hitz is hoping the hosts can counter with lots of running and some speed of their own. He also praised the team spirit and work on the training pitch over the last few weeks. "Development comes down to preparing ourselves for each opponent individually. I have the feel that can really get something going again here." Despite that, the personnel situation is still a cause for some concern. Jonathan Schmid and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw will remain on the sidelines, and Raul Bobadilla is a big doubt following a knock to the ribs in the match against Darmstadt. "We have to wait and see after our next training session before we can make a decision," Baum said of the forward. Meanwhile, Alfred Finnbogason and Daniel Beier have been definitely ruled out for Friday's match.
