Baum: "We have to learn from the game"

First Team 24.10.2017, 19:26
After Saturday's tough-to-take loss 2-1 loss at home to Hannover 96, preparations began on Tuesday for Sunday's trip to SV Werder Bremen. FCA head coach, Manuel Baum, spoke before training on a number of topics. ... the frustrating loss to Hannover: "I was happy that we're back in training and we can turn our focus to a new week. The result has been hanging over my head for the past few days. I can usually shake off a game quite quickly but not this one. We didn't deserve to lose but we have to work out why the game played out as it did. " ... key points of the team's performance: "We always going into a game wanting to win. However, we can't be too one-dimensional and only think about going forwards. It's important to think about attack and defence wherever you are on the pitch. Also, we need to be able to react during a game to certain situations." ... the performance against Hannover 96: "I think I've made the game sound worse that it really was. We played very well and did little wrong but we were punished brutally. Hannover didn't pin us back in our own half at any point of the game. I never thought that Hannover were doing well enough for us to contemplate changing how we were playing. We played well and only did a few small things wrong. We now need to be better against Bremen and take home the three points." ... on Alfred Finnbogason: "It's frustrating for Alfred that he isn't finding the net of late but he's been working hard for the team from the front. In the first half, you could see how well he was pressing their back line. I'm not worried about the fact he's isn't scoring. He just needs to loosen up in front of goal and the goals will come."
