Baum: "We’re pleased with the win and want to continue against Hertha.”

First Team 02.12.2017, 20:53
"We stayed disciplined when Mainz were on the front foot. Overall, we deserved the win," said Manuel Baum after Augsburg's 3-1 away win to Mainz.  Philipp Max: “We’ll travel home feeling great. We played great football in the first half and continued to pose problems in the second half. We had to defend well, too, and didn’t lose our heads after conceding.” Alfred Finnbogason: “Things are going really well in this team. That result comes after a week of hard work and shows our team spirit. We want to keep this run going.” Michael Gregoritsch: “We showed a good attitude on the pitch this afternoon. We’re delighted with the performance and the three points. Even after conceding that goal, we didn’t let up and quickly scored our third.” Manuel Baum: “We didn’t start the game well and got lucky when Mainz hit the post. We played better after that, staying disciplined when Mainz were on the front foot. Overall, we deserved the win. Some counter attacks might have been finished better, but we’re pleased with the win and want to continue against Hertha.” Sandro Schwarz: “We started the game well and were unlucky to hit the post. After that, we were second to every ball and of course it’s difficult when you’re 2-0 down. We tried everything, and it looked good up until we got into the final third. I think Augsburg’s third was symptomatic of our performance.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-I9pxhM1p0&feature=youtu.be
